One of the best meals I’ve had at Disney! Chef Julie (same name, different chef as Chef Julie from ‘Ohana) was awesome and the food was excellent. Also the Lasorda Chianti was wonderful - and the grenadine is the same all over property (and the grenadine at ‘Ohana was GF), so if a Shirley Temple or Cherry Coke is more your thing, that is okay, too.

I love ‘Ohana! This is our second meal here. This time our chef was Chef Julie. There were two main differences in this meal and the last one - Chef Julie put sweet & sour sauce right on the chicken (I am not a fan of the sauce, so next time I know to specify that - I bet most people would think it was great to do it that way), and instead of a small flourless chocolate cake, dessert was a French Meadow Brownie sundae. It was Valentine’s day, and I read a very recent review of someone getting the cake, so I’d guess that was just due to how busy the restaurant was. We will definitely be back!

One other note, because of how busy ‘Ohana was for Valentine’s day, we were seated about 30 minutes late. So I asked about the Lapu Lapu for something to drink while we were waiting - but no go on that. The sweet & sour mix at Tambu/’Ohana has gluten.

This breakfast was fantastic. The fruit was fresh, the juice was delightful, and everything was cooked perfectly. I didn’t post where we went to ‘Ohana for dinner last trip - it was too dark to take pictures by nearly-10PM, but I equally enjoyed that meal. If you’re not interested in characters or the nice view, I believe you can get a similar breakfast at Kona Cafe next door for a few dollars less (Big Kahuna + Fruit Cup + Lilikoi Juice for just over $21).

As is obvious from the photo, the salad was more like a bottle of dressing with some wilty lettuce hidden underneath. The sandwich was a ton of completely cold lunch meat with some fairly cold bacon and a cold tapioca roll (the menu description described a toasted roll for the non-GF version, not sure what prevented toasting the GF one, but those rolls are fairly difficult to eat without some heating). The chips were out of a bag. The banana split was delicious. But it was freezing that night and by the window you can’t feel the heat at all, so it was fairly uncomfortable dining in several layers of clothes and still shivering from cold and eating cold food besides. I’d come back in the summer to share a banana split with DH, but not much else.

This is the first meal I’ve had where I’ve gotten glutened, and also the first where the chef did not come out. I suspect the two are related. Lesson learned: always ask for the chef.

*I was on the DxDP, but the cream cheese mashed potatoes are a side and not an appetizer and they said it could not be substituted, so I let DH order a second appetizer and I paid out of pocket for the mashed potatoes ($5.99), and they were excellent. The entrée and dessert were included in the meal plan, but if my notes are correct, all three would’ve run me about $25 without tax or tip.

Not including tax, the cupcakes, cookie sandwiches, and pumpkin bread slices were $3.50 each. Brownie gems are $1.25. And donuts were $3.25.

Everything at this Babycakes location is gluten free. The cookie sandwich and donut were amazing. I didn’t try the pumpkin bread, but my non-GF aunt loved it, and my non-GF husband loved the brownie cupcake. We thought the brownie gem was just okay and I didn’t really like the pumpkin cupcake (not sweet enough for me, personally).

They have day old bread (like banana, pumpkin, etc.) slices 2 for $3.50.

If you are visiting Disney as (or with) a GF person who likes baked goods, do yourself a favor and stop here.

The chef (I didn’t catch his name) came out and discussed the menu with me. The pasta was not an option, so I ordered the skillet, which comes with the cornbread and salad. The gluten free cornbread is so good - sweet & moist. Sadly, they only had one piece for that night. The (all you can drink) shakes were also great. The fruit plate came with granola on it - so I ended up not eating it (oats are not, generally GF, but Disney seems to think they are?). And I’m not much for meat so I just had the corn and potatoes off the skillet. Shawn said the ribs were very good, but the brisket was dry.

Chef Andrew walked me through the buffet line, then I requested a separate plate be brought to me to minimize cross contamination risk. I requested eggs with cheese, bacon, waffles, and chocolate chip muffins. I had orange juice & milk for drinks, and picked up a banana from the buffet line. Note that oatmeal was listed as gluten free - I did not confirm that they used gluten free oats, and skipped it, but you may want to verify that if that’s something you’d like to have for breakfast.

The eggs and muffins were awesome. The bacon is a little thin for my tastes (our favorite is Boar’s Head), but plentiful. The waffles were Van’s frozen.
